In the Harry Nilson tradition, songwriter Alphin's gentle self deprecation and patient excoriation of contemporary society bounces right along encased in pop jingles and a voice dripping with treacle and venom. ”

New Single and Music Video!

After over a year of waiting, the new music video and song I’ve been wanting to share with everyone, "Raised By Werewolves" is finally out.

This song was inspired by a very difficult breakdown and mental health crisis I had in 2019 that left me questioning the state of our mental health treatment in America as well as my own dysfunctional family-of-origin experience.

It’s a tough subject to bring to light, but I am immensely proud of what all the cast and production team was able to create, and I hope it moves you and motivates you to ask questions about your own mental health and seek out quality care as well as a supportive community. I have found such a community in the artists that I have been able to make music and films with over the past several years, and I am grateful for them and the healing, encouragement, and growth they and regular therapist counseling have brought me.

If you are experiencing mental health challenges, the best thing you can do is get qualified help. In emergency, you can call 988, which is the suicide and crisis hotline, where you can talk to a trained counselor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I'm happy to be releasing new music again after sitting out the pandemic. I'll be releasing a full album early next year, but the first single and opening song of the album is out now and was recently premiered and reviewed by AmericanaUK. It was written with my good friend John Pennell. Give it a stream on any platform of your choice, download it, and/or share it.
